DiVinity N HumAnity, Inc. is more than just a nonprofit; it’s a movement of love, dignity, and empowerment. Founded by a former special education teacher with a passionate heart and a visionary mind, our organization was created to be a safe, inclusive, and vibrant haven for adults with special needs.

At DiVinity N HumAnity, we believe every individual, regardless of ability, deserves the chance to live a fulfilling, purpose-driven life. That’s why our adult day center in North Carolina is designed with accessibility, creativity, and care at its core. We were created with special needs individuals age 18 and up, disabled veterans, and disabled seniors in mind. Through life skills training, social engagement, therapeutic activities, and personalized support, we help our members grow in independence, confidence, and joy.

What sets us apart is our heart. Our programs are deeply rooted in compassion, innovation, and a firm commitment to treating every individual with the respect and humanity they deserve. We don’t just serve people, we build relationships, celebrate uniqueness, and uplift families through community-centered care.

DiVinity N HumAnity began with a calling, one that spoke louder than my job title and reached deeper than my career as a special education teacher. After over a decade of working in classrooms, advocating for students with special needs, and partnering with families navigating complex care systems, I saw a heartbreaking gap: what happens when these individuals age out of school-based services?

Too often, they are left behind, without structure, without stimulation, and without spaces that honor their gifts, needs, and dignity. Parents are left overwhelmed, individuals are isolated, and the community misses out on their incredible potential. I couldn’t unsee that reality. So, I decided to become part of the solution.

We founded DiVinity N HumAnity, Inc. with a mission to create a nurturing, vibrant adult day center where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are seen, celebrated, and supported every day. It’s more than a program, it’s a purpose.  It gives purpose. A place of learning, laughter, life skills, inclusion, and love.

From humble beginnings, we’ve grown into a center that reflects the very heart of our name: Divinity—the sacred worth of every life, and Humanity—the community that uplifts it. Every design choice, every activity, every staff member has been intentionally chosen to serve our participants with the same care we have for our own family.

This is not just my story, it’s the story of every person who has walked through our doors and found a safe place to belong, grow, and shine.
